With low flows and cooler temps the West Fork of the Bitterroot turns into mostly a nymphing game. Still some October Caddis floating around and an
orange stimi or rusty chubby is a great option for a dry dropper situation. Perdigons and Worms will be your best subsurface bugs. Streamer action is best covered by something in an olive or white tone. The flows coming out of Painted Rocks will be stable through winter with minor adjustment made based on inflows to the reservoir.
