The good news is our river and boat ramps are finally ice free and no major obstacles have been reported. Yea! The bad news is we've seen a significant rise in the river from the recent valley rain. Don't worry, the best spring fishing is yet to come. Judging by the previous years, the best fishing is always after we get a big push of water from spring rains. Once the water starts to drop the dry fly fishing will improve and should be consistent. The extra water in the river will spread the fish out and entice the skwala nymphs to hatch into adults, making for some great dry fly fishing from now til we see the "real" run off at the end of April/first of part of May. For the next few days it will be bobbers, worms and rubberlegs for the best results. Get your dry fly box stocked up and ready though!
