It’s windshield time in Montana. You see when you live on a freestone stream in Western Montana you’re going to get hit with high, muddy water at some point. Sometimes it doesn’t happen until mid May but sometimes, like this year, it happens in April. Almost completely shutting down our fishing for a period of time. That’s when we get a lot of windshield time traveling to more fishable waters like the Missouri, Madison or Big Hole rivers. Get out and explore something new this year. With 170% of average snowpack we may be in for a long run off period. Lets hope our river has plenty of water this year. We’ll report as things start clearing and we see our first signs of SALMON flies.
