September 6th Fishing Report

Headed into September we were really looking forward to our fall bug menu. What we didn’t expect, was that our Hopper Fishing would be so darn good. Yes, the fall bugs have made an appearance with the larger Hecuba (size 10-12) a few BWO’s and the occasional Mahogany Dun, but for now the Hopper Fishing has been ruling the top water Game. The Trico Fishing continues to be good on most days in the morning until around noon.  Then a switch to a larger easier to see hopper pattern should get the job done. Our water levels and water temps have been very favorable to the health of our fishery this year making for an exciting fall to come.  The foreseeable forecast is calling for warm temps and clear skies. Make sure you get out and enjoy the fabulous fishing on the Bitterroot River.
